Interview Process - Interview Questions PDF Print E-mail

Regardless of how formal or casual an interview is, every employer is asking "Why should I hire you?"  It is your duty to answer that question by providing detailed and insightful information about yourself, experience, personal accomplishments, values, morals, etc.  Expanding on an answer to a direct question shows your ability to think beyond the "obvious."  However, be careful not to become too personal with the discussion, or dwell too long on unrelated discussion topics.

For questions involving salary range, try to avoid providing any detailed salary requirements you may have until you are offered a position.  Giving a specific dollar amount may eliminatre you for consideration.  You may try asking what the salary range is for the open position and indicate that you are in fact within that range, without specifying a dollar amount.

You may not be asked if you have any questions.  It is your job to be prepared to ask a couple specific questions that display your knowledge and interest in the job.  But, this is not the appropriate time to inquire about pay or benefits.
