The State of Hawaii is different from many states in that it does not require you pass an examination prior to applying for a position.  Whether you are seeking a state teaching job with the Department of education or a state law enforcement position, the steps for acquiring a job are as follows:

1. Meet basic public employment requirements
2. Obtaining an application (paper or online)
3. Complete an application
4. Submit an application

After submitting an application you will be asked to particpate in the following procedures:

1. Screening
2. Examination
3. Eligibility
4. Referral
5. Interview
6. Meet all Physical/Mental Requirements
