Nevada State Jobs Hiring Process PDF Print E-mail

The State of Nevada Department of Personnel has published a detailed instructions guide on how to get state jobs in Nevada.  The basic steps to applying for state government job opportunities is:

  1. Visit the Nevada Employee Action and Timekeeping website here.
  2. Register an account.
  3. Create your applicant profile, providing your contact information, employment history, education/training, licenses, skills, demographic information (voluntary), accomodations, availability, document attachments, and any other information requested.
  4. Apply for a position:
    1. Search through Nevada state government job openings.
    2. Review job announcement.
    3. Click Apply
    4. Answer supplemental questionnaire used to verify your qualifications
    5. Complete Job Application that consists of the following components
      1. Profile - applicant data
      2. Exam - any exam requirements
      3. Departments - which departments you are willing to work in
      4. Attachments - any document attachments
      5. Signature - your electronic signature
    6. Submit application
